Basically opened exhaust right after catalytic converters
I have tested a few Porsche mounts but this is as far my favorite mount. I have purchased a very well designed mount and modified it to work on a Porsche Cars.
Why?
The smartphone or tablet is held securely in place with the spring-loaded holder, but can be inserted or removed from the mount with one hand. Included with the holder are 8 support legs (4 short and 4 longer versions). The adjustable top and bottom leg design of the Slim-Grip Ultra holder helps keep any side buttons and ports unobstructed, making it ideal for use with the side accessible buttons on the Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+ or Note Edge.
This mount holds large smartphones up to 6.75” tall, including the iPhone 6 Plus, 6, 5, 5S, 5C, 4S, Samsung Galaxy Note Edge, Note 5, Note 4, and Note 3, Galaxy S6 edge+, S6, S5, and S4, LG G4, G3, and G2, Nexus 6 and Nexus 5, HTC One M9, One M8, and One Max, Nokia Lumia 1520 and 1020, Amazon Fire Phone, Motorola Moto G and Moto X.
The mount also holds midsize (7” or 8” screen size) tablets, including the iPad mini, Galaxy Tab S 8.4, Galaxy Note 8.0, Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 and 8.0, Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4, Kindle Fire HD, and Google Nexus 7.
The recommended configuration for most smartphones and midsize tablets is to have 2 short legs on the top of the holder and 2 of the longer support legs on the bottom of the holder. For phones with height larger than 5.25”, use all 4 long support legs for best performance. This mount fits all non-flip smartphones, even those used with rubberized or large protective cases or skins.
NOTE! Please notice that I have this unit installed right way and upside down. Upside down will clear your vent better since most of the unit sticks above the dash board.
* Fits all new (2010-up tested) models of Porsche Panamera and Macan. Maybe other models too.
** Its my fit other previous generation Porsche vehicles but it has not been tested. All you have to do to see if it works with your car is to slide a “butter knife” between your dash and the radio. It it goes in about 2″ – it will work.
*** This mount will not work in landscape mode unless its a tablet. If you like a mount where you would like to tilt it to a horizontal position – let me know. Im working on another one with a ball/joint design where you can position the phone in any (vertical or horizontal) position. Difference would be the rear mount. The “ball / joint” would just make the mount stick out of the dash a little. Let me know if you are interested in it.
** Please LET me know if there is any interest in this unit over the other one.
You can either take out entire spoiler drive assembly or you can dissasemble it piece by piece on the car. I included both ways here:
